BESPOKE HANDMADE LEATHER ITEMS SINCE 1750.

The trade has been taught and business passed down through generations of the family since 1750.

Doug Baggott had over 60 years’ experience in the leatherwork trade and was known and respected worldwide for his craftsmanship. He successfully supplied many major retailers including Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Brooks Brothers in New York to name but a few. He trained his daughter, Sarah, who is now carrying on the family business and name.

Sarah is equally well respected for her leather craft and has carved a strong brand name in the marine sector supplying heavy duty cladding to superyachts in Palma de Mallorca, mainland Spain and Italy.

She also makes leather straps for the classic & vintage car sector supplying both retail and trade customers worldwide.

Sarah and her travelling workshop attend events across the UK year round where she makes your bespoke belt while you wait. Please see the Events page to find out where she will be exhibiting.

All articles made by The Leatherworker are handmade using vegetable and chrome- tanned hides sourced in the UK and Spain. Most ítems are hand stitched with heavy duty waxed thread, using two needles, commonly known as saddle stitch. This time honoured trade produces quality products that really stand the test of time.

Over 269 years of leather working experience.
